127th Balidhan
Divas. RISHI NIRVAN DIVAS.
Maharishi Swami Dayanand Saraswati
महर्षि स्वमि दयानन्द सरस्वति
While
we all celebrate Deepawali with our relatives and
friends let us not forget that the day of Deepawali
holds a special significance for the Arya Samaj. It was on this day that
Maharishi Dayananda, the greatest reformer of Hinduism and founder of Arya
Samaj left his physical body. Arya Samaj thus observes Rishi Nirvan Divas on Deepawali. On
this day we pay tribute to Swamiji through commitment in carrying on with his
mission and vision. While we observe Rishi Nirvan Divas let us think about it.
Why was it necessary for Swami Maharishi Dayananda to
establish Arya Samaj and the couple of lines from the famous filmy song comes
to mind.
“Dekh
taray sansar kee haalat kyaa ho gayee bhagwan,
Kitana
badal gayaa insan,
Sooraj
na badalla,
chand na badala, na badala ray asman,
par
kitna badal gayaa insan.”
When
Swami Ji observed the condition of the Hindu Jati and how human beings have
changed and adopting the rituals and practices, like child marriages, sati
pratha and moorti pooja which had no validity in the Vedas and which was
casting a shadow of darkness and ignorance amongst the people and to bring the
people back to fold of Vedas and to Light the Truth “Jag mein
jot jagane, andhyare ko
mitane aur acachai ko phalane ke liye” the only vehicle was to
establish Arya Samaj.
What
ultimate compliment and tribute we can pay to Swami Ji and thank him for the
legacy and mission he has left us to carry on yet by another famous bhajan.
“Dhanya
Hai Tujh ko ha Rishi, Tune Hame Jaga Diya.
So
So key lut
Rahe the Hum. Tune Hame Bacha Liya.
Abdhon
Ko Ankhen
Mil Gai, Jaati me jaan aa gai.
Jadoo
sa kya chala Diya Amrit sa kya pila Diya.”

Maharishi Dayanad on the 128th Anniversay
of Rishi Nirwan Divas.
Thank
You.
