Bālād ekam aṇīyaskam
ut ekam neva drshyate.
Tatah pari shvajīyasī
devatā sā mam priyā.
In the whole universe, whatever we can see;
directly apprehend or have direct cognizance of; infer something to be likely;
read or hear about something or consider it probable; all of them at ther most basic root level consists of only three eternal
things, God, the Soul and Prakriti (physical matter
in the extremely minute subatomic state). There is nothing else, no fourth
thing. God is the agentive cause for the creation of the universe, prakriti is the material cause of universe, and souls are
the consumers for whose benefit the universe is created. [Read

By:
Dhirendra Sharma, President, Greater Atlanta Vedic
Temple
|
Just as in the last 3 years, the young Arya Vir Dal (ages 6 to 18) of Atlanta Vedic temple, once again
on May 22nd, proved that they could be the careers of the Arya Samaj principles today, if they didn’t have the
responsibility of Brahmacharya Ashram, a very
important education period. Hearty congratulations were showered by everyone in
the audience. But they had to do their
duty and the winners in the group 1 were Vedarsh
Mishra as first and Aditya Arora as second and in the senior group were Rohan
Bagga and Havishkrit Arya
for the first position and Sudeep Giri was second.
On the Mahayajnya day (April 26) each one
will be gifted with their deserving prizes plus each participant would
receive an additional $125 for their hard work and great presentation. [Read More]

Learning
from One Another – We Need Each Other
By Kewal Ahluwalia
|
Teaching and learning are activities that link people
together. We have to recognize the
role of teaching and that of learning from each other, from our teachers,
from our colleagues, from our students, from our friends, and from our fellow
human beings. There is something extraordinarily great in these interconnections.
Throughout history knowledge, culture and information has been passed down
within communities. Life lesson were often taught by older, wiser or formally
educated people within the community. No matter where or who a person is,
they are always learning something, either about themselves or about the
environment around them.[Read More]

Swami Dayanand, Arya Samaj
and his contribution in
Dalit upliftment
Dr.
Vivek Arya
|
Swami Dayanand,
great scholar of his times who started reformation movement in our country in
view of degradation of Vedic values and propagation of various myths on name
of dharma. Child marriage, polygamy, casteism, Brahmins
supremacy, ignorance towards Vedic scriptures, killing of cow, lack of
education, poverty, unemployment, superstitions etc. were common and widely
prevalent during his time. Worst among them was Casteism
or Jativad which had created differences between
humans. Almighty God gave birth to all of us; the humans degraded themselves
by claiming themselves as superior or inferior on basis of birth in certain
caste. During his times a rigid caste system was in practice, the Brahmins
enjoyed supremacy over others. The condition of the shudras
was deplorable and womanhood was also considered as inferior. The Muslims and
Christians were proselytizing the Hindus and consequently the Hindu fold was
becoming thinner day by day. Dayanand minutely
observed these ill practices and founded that casteism
was not even mentioned in Vedas and whatever thing was anti Vedic was false
for Dayanand. [Read More]
